Week 14 Round Up
TFC couldn’t quite dig deep enough to draw even with the Revs. The 2-1 loss is still a far better result than we’re used to in Foxboro but still isn’t enough to maintain our place in the standings. John Carver seems to be sticking with his keep your starting spot approach to determining the starting XI, either that or there was a problem with Greg Sutton. Honestly I don’t know why you would bench a $150000 goaltender who had just come off of a successful national team call up in favor a the largely unproven Brian Edwards against the best record in the league.
Elsewhere in MLS:
- Columbus Crew extend their points lead over TFC with an expected victory against the struggling Colorado Rapids
- Chicago continues to stall with a pathetic 0-0 draw at home against last place San Jose
- NY Soda draw Chivas in the battle of mediocrity
- RSL goes down to Kansas 1-0 thanks to an 89th minute own goal (ouch!)
- And finally red hot DC United trounce LA 4-1 in a match largely touted as test to see who is for real. LA apparently, is not
So TFC drop a spot in the league standings and are on the outside of SuperLiga qualification with DCU ahead on points and LA ahead on goal difference.
