Carver happy with 0-0 result

I’ve been witness to some dreadfully boring football this week. Croatia went down to Turkey in what ended up as an exciting finish, but it was still painful sitting through that first 118 minutes. Ditto for today’s Spain - Italy game… total snooze fest. So it was with great disappointment that I was at BMO for Toronto FC’s scoreless draw against lowly Kansas City.

John Carver baffled me with his starting line up. I understand his motives for having players earn their spot on the first 11, but to say Guevara didn’t belong there in place of either Dunivant, Harmse or Cunningham (especially Cunningham) is total nonsense. Furthermore, Carver seems pleased with the result saying “for us that one point and tie is still big and may become very important down the stretch in the playoff race.” I don’t buy that coming from a man that constantly chastises his team for settling for mediocrity. If we’re hosting a team like Kansas who is sporting a 7 game winless streak in league play then I expect nothing more than full points.

What about Dichio’s offside goal at the end, I never saw the replay. Was that a fair call?

Dichio’s goal was definitely offside. Here’s the video link:

As you can see he’s got about 3 steps on the last defender
