MLSE looking at Leeds United

So it looks like the Ontario teachers pension fund is looking into buying Leeds, at least according to TSN.

On the surface it looks like an “everybody wins” scenario since MLSE wants a piece of that action in the FA and Leeds can’t seem to catch a break since losing their footing in the Premiership. But if you look into Leeds United Chairman Ken Bates’ history, you’ll realize he is anything but a quitter. This is the man that took Chelsea from the brink of relegation to the 3rd division to a top flight team, eventually selling them to Russian billionaire Roman Abramovich for a profit of $35 million.

For Bates, his Leeds United endeavor is his “one last challenge”. To think he’s going to call it quits a division below where he started in 2005 is just silly.
